Iron Age Glenview is a Korean barbecue spot that draws in locals looking for an interactive dining experience centered around quality meats and hands-on grilling. Situated in a busy but accessible strip near Lake Avenue, it offers a casual yet lively environment where groups can gather around charcoal grills built into the tables, making it ideal for weekend dinners or midweek outings with family and friends.

The atmosphere here leans toward energetic and bustling, especially during peak hours, but it remains comfortable enough for newcomers to take their time learning the ropes of Korean barbecue. The staff often assist with grilling and plating, which helps smooth out the experience if you’re new to this style of dining.

The menu is well-tailored for those wanting to sample a variety of classic Korean barbecue staples and sides. Highlights include tender Hawaiian beef bulgogi with its sweet and savory marinade, spicy pork steak, and the chewy, flavorful spicy rice cakes. The Iron Age Salad, dressed in their signature tangy salad dressing, provides a refreshing balance to the rich, grilled meats. Don’t overlook the kimchi and japchae as traditional sides that play well alongside the main dishes. Those who appreciate pairing food with beer will find the 3000cc of Blue Moon Belgian White a popular choice to cool down the palate.

This spot tends to draw a mix of all ages—from families enjoying a lunch where everyone can pick and choose their meat cuts, to groups of friends sharing platters during a casual dinner. Early afternoon visits, like just after opening around 11:30 am, come with the perk of less bustle and quicker seating, whereas evenings bring a vibrant buzz with frequent table turnovers and the satisfying smells of grilling.

Iron Age Glenview is best experienced when you have 2 or more people ready to share food and conversation over a shared grill. Its approachable menu and attentive service—often noted for servers who check in regularly and help with cooking—make it a practical choice for anyone curious about Korean barbecue without wanting to navigate it alone. Whether you’re a local wanting a reliable Korean spot or a visitor seeking a hands-on meal in a welcoming environment, Iron Age offers a familiar, social dining atmosphere grounded in tasty food and friendly service.

I had an amazing first experience at Iron Age in Glenview! Everything from the atmosphere to the food was fantastic. The Hawaiian-style beef was a standout—perfectly marinated, tender, and packed with flavor. The rice cakes were also incredibly tasty—chewy, crispy, and addictive! I want to give a special shout-out to our server, J.O., who was absolutely phenomenal. Super attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was running smoothly the entire time. Service like that really elevates a meal! I was actually introduced to Iron Age by my son—it’s his favorite place to eat, and now I can absolutely see why. We’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, flavorful, and satisfying Korean BBQ experience!

Hey fellow Google Mappers! This was my first time going to Iron Age location in Glenview, IL. I went with my boyfriend, my parents, my uncle, & my aunt. We went around 11:30 am - 12 pm and it wasn’t busy which was awesome. We were waiting for my parents to come, but the waiter seated us. ⭐ Customer Service: The staff were friendly. We were seated right away. The waiters were awesome about giving us our food and switching out the grill plate when it needed to be switched out. Food/Drinks: The food was really good! I only had Korean BBQ one other time in my life and I thought it was good, but I think Iron Age may be my go-to Korean BBQ spot. Bathroom: The bathrooms are located towards the back of the restaurant. They were very clean. In the ladies room, there are only 3 stalls. Overall Experience: Overall, I had a great experience at Iron Age at the Glenview, IL location. The staff were friendly, it was clean, & delicious food. I hope this review helps Iron Age in the Glenview location, Iron Age in general, & its current and future customers. Have an amazing day!

4.5 stars ! Read as to why! Great service by our server. We came with a big party (10) despite how chaotic the party was, our server was professional and very patient. The meats were great and had good selection. They were seasoned really well and had great flavor. The deduction of star is just due to lack of options for sides.

Iron Age Korean BBQ in Glenview is definitely a unique experience and worth checking out if you’re into K-BBQ. For $29 per person, you get unlimited meat brought straight to your table, and you grill it yourself - fun and super satisfying. They’ve got a big variety of meats. Our favorites were the beef bulgogi (easily the standout), the seasoned steak (also really good), and the Iron Age soy beef steak, which had great flavor. We also tried the lemon chicken - it was just okay, didn’t really stand out compared to the others. Don’t be fooled into thinking you can power through unlimited rounds - we thought we could eat way more, but once you’re into your third meat, you feel it. It’s definitely filling! They offer sides too. A lot of people recommended the spicy rice cakes, so we gave them a shot, but honestly, we didn’t like the texture - kind of spongy and not our thing. I’d personally skip those next time. The atmosphere is something else — loud K-pop music videos projected all around, almost like eating in a club. We actually liked the high-energy vibe, but it’s definitely not for everyone. If you’re looking for a quiet dinner, this might not be your scene. They also serve different types of radish as sides at the table, and I personally loved those. Again, that might be hit or miss depending on your taste. My family didn’t like it. Service was top-notch — super friendly staff who kept things moving and checked in often. Just a heads-up: you can’t make a reservation, and this place gets busy. We had to wait about 40 minutes on a weekend night, but it still felt totally worth it. Overall, I’d definitely recommend giving it a try — great food, fun experience, and solid service. Just go hungry and maybe bring a little patience for the wait!
